Having the NATO conference in Chicago will be great for economy, bringing in a lot of tourism but I'm not so sure the locals will look at it in such a positive light considering half the city will be shut down.
I also think that the NATO confrence has its benefits to being in chicago. However i dont think all the locals would be mad about it. My dad for example had to work from home today because of it and he liked the fact he got to stay home for the day!
And as for the video about obama, I think although it wasnt planned to announce his views on gay marraige, it could be a good thing. Alot of his supporters are in favor of gay marraige and i think younger generations are becoming more and more liberal about the idea. It is especially good for him because i think our generation is more likely to vote compared to previous generations when they were our age.
As far as the NATO summit being in chicago i dont understand why everyone is reacting so negatively. the purpose of the meeting is to create allies with other countries, that would benefit us if we ever needed help in that way and if the people of chicago present themselves that way who is going to want to become allies with us?
as far as Obamas view on gay marriage i feel like the population is more upset that he waited this long to relate his actual views on the issue, but i dont feel like it is a negative thing, people are allowed to do with their bodies what they want, and most of his supporters support gay marriage anyway so i dont feel like it is really costing him anything.
