List of super PACs
(From Ken Halla's US Government's Teachers Blog)
Above is the most recent (and biting) advertisement by Gingrich's super PAC. Here are all of the super PACs. Super PACs are a direct result of Citizens United v. F.E.C. and essentially are the follow-up to 527s allowing their individuals and corporations to give unlimited donations to one. The key is that there cannot be any collaboration between the candidate and the super PACs - even though they seem to mostly be run by former staffers of the presidential candidate. My question will be will the super PAC people be given key jobs in the next presidential administration, be it Obama, Romney or someone else. The ad above (here is an article detailing it) is possible because of a $5 million donation to his super PAC by one individual and is a huge help to his South Carolina campaign.

I love the part where it slows down and the music stops and the lady says "He ruined my life" or something of that nature. I feel that this ad has actually little to do with actuall PACs. It just seems like a last ditch attempt by other candidates to try and tear Romney down. I have never been a fan of attack ads and generally do not believe anything that I learn from them, so sorry Gingrich! You are not even close in the polls, so stop trying!
Props for the music and video though.
The article highlights how large of an impact one individual or organization can have on an entire campaign--which can have a lot of negative ramifications. For instance, in the process of lobbying for campaign funds from particularly wealthy potential contributors, candidates could misguidedly begin to align some of their platform policies with the values of said contributors.
I also agree with James. The ad seemed to have very little to do with PACs and a lot more to do with getting some jabs in at Mitt Romney.
In winning two contests, Romney who only a few weeks ago was ridiculed for making $10,000 bets is now the prime target in the primary race. Now the other Republican candidates are trying to dig up any dirt they can find on him. Using swift boat veteran tactics, this Gingrich super PAC Slander documentary of Romney seems mostly to feed of soundbites and biased assumptions which assumes Romney was at fault for causing people's misfortune. This documentary mostly will be ammo for the Gingrich camp who has been slipping in the polls. While Romney unlike other candidates has been able to escape controversy.
In the past week or so, a lot of the negative spending by super PACs in the presidential campaign over the past week has gone towards drilling Newt Gingrich, who is trailing pretty badly in the polls. Something like $90,000 in expenditures has been spent by Restore Our Future, an anti-Gingrich PAC since the Iowa Caucus. I actually almost feel bad for Newt. Mitt is so fixated on the Presidency that he took out Gingrich and Perry with low blows. Then once the damage has been inflicted, he reassumes his choir boy demeanor. This is a dirty game.
Although I am not a fan of the man, I honestly feel a little bad for Newt. As he surged a couple weeks before Iowa, Romney went on the attack. I do not know if Gingrich's decline in numbers was solely due to Romney's ad's (as he slipped up a couple times himself), but these super PACs should not have the ability to wield this much power
