Can you pick 'em?

The NY Times has a graphic that you can manipulate the 512 ways (assuming 9 states are still swinging) to see who will become the next president of the US.

Politico has broken down what it will be linke Wednesday morning (maybe?) Obama loses or if Romney loses.

For fun, blog in the comment section your I predict.....included electoral vote count (remember 538 total EC votes, 270 to win), popular vote percentage and national voter turnout. We'll say a major award for the winner of our Presidential Selection Pool.

I predict that Romney will win Florida. Then as a flow of events I think Obama will win Ohio but Romney will take North Carolina through to Wisconsin. But in the end I think Obama will take Colorado for the win.

I predict....Obama 51%, Romney 48%, Johnson (L) 1%.

EC -- Obama 303, Romney 235. (Romey holds on for win in Florida, but Obama wins the other toss-ups including Ohio and Virginia, canceling out the Sunshine state's 29 votes).

59% voter turnout. With more early voting, I am prediciting the highest voter turnout since 1968, but still failing to crack the 60% mark which hasn't been seen in the US since 1968.

The United States ranks 139th in voter turnout of established democracies since 1945 (source: Economist). Austrailia (with mandatory voting) is 16th (84%), the UK 55th (75%). No. 1? maybe before the financial crisis, Italy at 92%.

Early state calls -- IN @ KY for Romney, Vt for Obama, 19-3 EC.....Virginia too close to call. The call is that Virgina may be a bellwether state, predicting the night. In 2008, its result was closest to the national result.

After the 7 pm closings, no surprises. EC now Romney 82, Obama 64.

Voting has been extended till Friday, due to Sandy storm, an example of the reserved power of suffrage to the states.

In New Jersey, that is.

In Florida, with big 29 EC votes, where early voting was cut nearly in half from 14 (2008) to 8 (2012) the stories of long lines after the polling places have reached closing time are being written. Like in 2000, it looks like Florida once again shows the mess that voting in our democracy can be.

I hope some of you come on line, and make late predictions. So I don 't have to keep virtually talking to myself.

The Senate races in both Florida (Ben Nelson) and Ohio (Sherod Brown) both go to the Democrats.....maybe coattail s for Obama, or reverse coat tails?
