Understanding the Iran Deal

NY Times has this good interactive graph to get us up to speed with what led to this weekend's nuclear deal with Iran and what will come next.

From what I have read from other sources as well as the New York times charts, it seems as the U.S got the short end of the deal. All we managed to do was "add weeks to Iran's breakout". I don't see this as an accomplishment, we achieve little in the long run by slowing down their nuclear program a few weeks, and in exchange loosening sanctions. And lastly, I don't fully trust the Iranian government to play by the rules.

I agree that the charts lead to the conclusion that all the U.S. has really down is slow Iran's production. Although we've in a sense bought ourselves time I highly doubt that this will do much for us later when they are finished and ready to attack. Iran has the materials to build these weapons and a few extra weeks added on isn't going to stop them completely in their tracks.
